  • paintroller.jpgInstead of doing the traditional Thanksgiving meal with my family last Thursday, I thought I would mix it up a bit. You know, by painting a women’s locker room and attempting to volunteer at a local soup kitchen… yes, I said attempting.

  • That’s right, the author of the New York Times bestsellers The Nasty Bits and Kitchen Confidential, culinary bad boy Anthony Bourdain is the host of the Travel Channel’s No Reservations will be in Philly this Saturday at 2:00pm. I will see you there! (I can’t wait!)

  • West Chester is famous for being such a great town and it only gets better during the holidays. The festivities start this weekend in downtown WC and include the lighting of the christmas tree and lots of fun activities with local restaurants.     Learn about the history of gingerbread and spices in early America and decorate a gingerbread house to take home. Reservations recommended; attendance limited to 25 children.

    Concurrently: Installation of “Spices and Their Antique Containers” in the 2nd floor introductory gallery cases.

    PHILADELPHIA (November, 2007) – Tasty Baking Company has launched its
    “Search for the 2nd Verse” contest, which seeks to find a catchy line to
    follow the beloved and well-known “Nobody bakes a cake as tasty as a
    Tastykake!” This contest, launched in conjunction with Tastykake’s
    sponsorship of Peter Nero and The Philly Pops’R Holiday Pops! series, is
    open to anyone, ages 18 and under. Using the winning verse, two-time
    GrammyR Award-winner Peter Nero will prepare a new arrangement of the

    . . . never have so many nervous cooks prepared so many meals to satisfy so many groups of potentially critical relatives. I can’t think of another meal that fills so many cooks with so much fear, nor can I think of one as satisfying to master. So, to add my advice to the volumes already available, here it is: keep it simple.
