The culinary smorgasbord that is West Chester is about to become even more varied with the addition of two new restaurants about three blocks apart. -

PHILADELPHIA, PA – On November 5 at 7 pm, superstar Chef Jose Garces and local brewing powerhouse Victory Brewing Company will partner for a one-night-only Beer Dinner at Chifa (707 Chestnut Street, 215-925-5555), Chef Garces’ Latin-Asian restaurant. The event will feature five courses of Chifa’s inspired cuisine paired with Victory beers, and will be the premiere food event featuring its newest offering, Yakima Twilight, a double IPA. The cost will be $55 per person, excluding tax and gratuity. Space is limited and reservations are required.

UPPER PROVIDENCE — There were occasional shopping cart traffic jams, but that’s to be expected when a store opening generates enough excitement that 1,500 people are lined up at the doors before 7 a.m. on a Sunday.Sunday’s grand opening of the Collegeville Wegmans, located in the new Providence Town Center, was “a little busier” than most for the family-owned, 74-store supermarket chain, according to director of media relations Jo Natale, who’s been with the company for 24 years.
“We know people were really anxious for this store to open,” she said. “There’s a lot of excitement about The Pub.”
