  • PHILADELPHIA, PA – Beginning on Saturday and Sunday, March 6 and 7, Chef Jose Garces’ modern Mexican restaurant, Distrito (3945 Chestnut Street, 215-222-1657), will debut a Weekend Brunch.  The menu will include a host of fun Mexican flavors, served in Chef Garces’ signature small plates style, every Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.

    “One of the meals I enjoy the most in Mexico City is breakfast because of all the flavorful options,” says Chef Garces.  “This menu will bring our interpretation of those dishes to University City and offer new place for brunch in the neighborhood.”

    Tuesday March 23rd,t 6:30 pm.

    Cost: $65 all inclusive with Jodi Stoudt as the beer host.

    Beer sizes will vary but they’re planning to pour between 6-8 ounces for
    each beer.

    There’s going to be a 1/2 hour of hors d’oeuvres featuring:

    Short rib spring rolls
    Portabella fries with truffle aioli
    Chorizo blue cheese flat bread

    These will be paired with Stoudts pilsner a traditional german style pilsner
    (delicately dry with firm bitterness)

    Followed by a a four-course dinner.

    First Course:
    Homemade sausages with a kennett mushroom crustini and a roasted garlic
    yogurt
    Paired with Stoudts new beer called Karnival Kolsch (similar to a light
    lager- its dry and crisp with slight fruitiness).

    Second Course:
    Cornbread and prosciutto stuffed rainbow trout with haricot vert gratin and
    a sage butter
