I heard of this food chain from South Park. So i was very excited to try my own burrito. When I got there I saw the biggest burritos i have ever seen being made. They are the best thing i have ever eatin. Hands down.

Pardon some of my grammar mistakes below as I was multi-tasking. It would be helpful if there was a delete option for the reviewer. ;)

(i.e. Taco Bell) should have read
    (i.e. fast food)

I was very excited to hear that Chipotle was opening in the WC area as I enjoy their meals while in NYC.

The staff is friendly and always accommodating. Unlike Fran, I guess I do have the “cilantro gene”. I disagree with classifying Chipotle as fast food being that the quality of their ingredients is on a much higher par than Taco Bell (i.e. Taco Bell).

They respect their customers so, so if someone does not want cilantro on their rice, I do not seen the harm in making that request. If you are a paying customer, you have a right to be satisfied especially if the staff is happy to meet the request. I don’t believe a restaurant’s classification should dictate lower expectations.

Chipotle’s food is always flavorful and satisfying.

Used to work in NYC and these places were located on every corner. great place. food is very flavorful. and one key to these chains, is the consistency of the product. Just please do not start to skimp on the fillings once your name gets around town…like other places are known to do.
thanks and keep up the good work.

We are low on lunch food in the house so my husband is grabbing some Chipotle right now. We have been there a few times and the food is satisfying and flavorful. I find the cilantro review interesting because I really don’t like cilantro but I don’t mind it in their burritos. I guess I found the other flavors to be strong enough to create a balance. Also, I think that you can’t skimp on the fillings. If you’re on a diet this is not the place for you.

“Dr Zibb”..oh that is rich…it’s actually Dr Zibbs”..as if you all didn’t know that.

    I love me some Chipotle.

However I think they should give out plastic bibs to patrons like me that attempt to eat a burrito in the car and without a doubt spill it.

(Actually, maybe they can hand out plastic bibs to the rregular folk and reserve some nice linen bibs for the important people like me…Dr Zibb

Just a follow up to the review–I emailed the company, and did receive a reply. Note: I didn’t ask what items had cilantro in them, that was obvious from looking at the items, and from the ingredient list on the website. Frankly, it’s a fast-food burrito place, so asking the manager for all the special treatment is a tad silly. It’s easier just to get burritos elsewhere. Sheesh.

    Fran,

Thank you for writing to us. I am sorry we have disappointed you. We have many items that do not have cilantro in them, but it is easier to list those that DO have cilantro in them if you should decide to dine with us in the future. These items have cilantro:

    rice
    mild tomato salsa
    corn salsa
    green tomatillo salsa
    guacamole

Another thing to keep in mind is that we usually have a back up pan of rice that has not been mixed with the seasonings yet and all you have to do is ask for some. It may also be possible to get some tomatoes and avocado without cilantro. If you speak to a manager they can help you out.

We hope to see you again sometime.

    Sincerely,

    Dawn Dillon

I kinda wanted to like this place–it has strong “socially responsible” credentials for a chain, and proclaims its quality ingredients and freshly made eats. The music is good, too.

Located in the new Turner Square complex in West Goshen (who in the world is going to rent all of those retail spaces they built? Madness!) Chipotle is a tres moderne build-your-own burrito joint with very, very friendly staff, and fresh food.

They offer the burrito ingredients as a rice bowl, salad or soft taco, too. With chips and salsa, and beverages, that’s the menu.

My one (big) caveat—just about everything is doused generously with chopped cilantro. All of the salsas, guacamole, rice, fajita vegetables. It’s as if the corporate chef is one of those cilantro-obsessed Food Network people. My problem is: Quantities of cilantro make me sick. And it tastes like soap. A little is fine, I just don’t seem to have the “cilantro gene”. Don’t snicker, it’s real!

So by default, my burrito consisted of carnitas (very good), pinto beans (tasty), cheese (bland), sour cream and chopped romaine. Offering some chopped tomatoes and onion would have been appreciated. The steak and other meats were also good, and there’s a vegetarian selection. But I’d like my burritos warmer, temperature-wise, cool room-temp in a burrito doesn’t make it for me. .

Ordering seemed to be a tad more confusing than it needed to be. More information would have been helpful, like what’s included for the basic price, what costs extra—but they’ve just opened, so perhaps things will be fine-tuned in days to come.

It’s fast, reasonable, well located and will probably do well. A quick lunch/shopping/post-soccer- game spot. But with all of the great Mexican food in the area, Chipotle doesn’t quite make the cut.

Review Guidelines
Be Respectful. Do you kiss your mother with that mouth?

Although the old saying, "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all," is swell, we encourage constructive feedback (ie, be polite), and recommend backing-up your comments with evidence/witnesses.

Be Honest. Look where it got Abe Lincoln. Well, before the evening at the theater.

We don't recommend complaining just for the sake of it (see number 1), but if you have a legitimate comment, it should be shared. Also, don't hesitate to disagree with other comments, even if your opinion is in the minority. If patrons aren't honest about their experiences, restaurants won't know that there is room for improvement. And there always is.

Be Specific. "The food was good" doesn't cut it.

Each dining experience is unique, so if a dining experience moves you in any way, by all means, share the details. Choose the sensory details that impacted your experience the most and describe them in your postings. Other foodies will gobble it up—literally.

Be Concise. 'Nuf said.

What? We thought it was pretty clear the first time.

Be Helpful. Sort of like how the elves and reindeer help Santa.

Will what you have to say improve the restaurant's ability to provide impeccable service and improve the dining experience for others (again, see number 1)? If so... help away.

Show a Little Pride. No Jane or John Does please.

If you are too embarrassed to put your name as the commenter, you probably should re-evaluate your comments (you know the drill... see number 1). If you have sensitive information that you feel needs to be passed along, please use your best judgment and e-mail it to us to avoid public posting. We don't want you to have any post-post regrets.

Don't Name Names. Let's not get too personal here.

We know you want to share your experiences, both good and bad, but this isn't the place to publicly condemn or praise individual people. Feel free to comment on "the service", "the chef", or "the staff", but any positive or negative mention of specific names will be moderated.
