Big dissappointment! We have been going to Kildares since it has opened and never had a bad meal till this past Saturday. First, they don’t serve bread anymore before the meal. My daughter ordered the Tuna Steak, which it was cold and her veggies were cold. It was sent back and came out still cold. I ordered the Drunken Steak, medium rare. It was bloody raw and seared on both sides. The veggies were cold too. Our waiter was very aplogetic and asked if I wanted it cooked more. By then I just wanted to leave. The manager came over and was not to helpful. She said she personally watched my daughters meal reheated, which I doubt. Never apoligized to me for my meal. She asked my husband if we wanted a drink or dessert. No one wanted dessert but he said he would have a drink. So when we got the bill, my meal was not discounted or taken off. I ate two bites of steak and that is all. Plus she charged us for the drink that she offered us. Bad customer service. Needless to say we wont be going back and I now understand why we didn’t have to wait for a table like at other WC resturants that night. Lousy food and management.

The food is okay, I don’t go here to eat very often. I normally just go to drink. They do have good drink specials during the week. On the weekends it is really crowded. The bartenders are ALWAYS VERY RUDE!!! I don’t understand why they continue to serve people who are falling down drunk already. This is not responsible.

I think it’s funny that the staff is also rude to each other. There is a lack of leadership here.

The food used to be great.
light crispy flaky fish and chips. Unique chicken wings. Kildares was my favorite restaurant. However, it has changed. The past three time that I have eaten there, I was disappointed. Soggy greasy fish and chips. Chicken wings that tasted as if they were reheated in a microwave oven.
The portions used to be bigger and it all coincides with there announced new menu
Brian Duffy please bring back the old recipes.

Still has a fantastic beer selection and atmosphere for drinking.

I enjoy the late night fun here, but it gets too crowded. The staff can also be terribly rude. Instead of being so nasty to well-behaved patrons like myself, perhaps they should stop over-serving the already wasted college girls who are obnoxious and puking in the ladies room.

I had dinner at Kildares the other night. It was the first time I had eaten there in a while . Though I was never a big fan of their food, their new menu is almost inedible.
I’ll probably continue to drink there but will avoid their food at all costs.

Good for drinking, but the food is terrible. C’mon Dave!!

By the way, I’d like to know the true identities of Kildare and Doc MacGrogan. They aren’t somehow related to Mr. Starbuck, are they?

Calling Kildare’s an “Irish” restaurant is like calling Chuck E Cheese an “Italian” restaurant. What’s wrong with just having a good honest bar without all the Irish kitsch?

how many shares does $35 buy me….

Brand new menu at Kildare’s is a delightful change to the old menu. Very pub oriented, reasonably priced and some really great food in a great bar atmosphere.

Good for partying, bad for eating.

My wife and I have been coming here for the past few years. It’s always a great experience with something for everyone. Nobody pours a better pint of Guinness.

I tried the Guinness Beef Stew for the first time the other day…absolutely UNBELIEVABLE! I know it will taste even better when it gets colder outside.

Why oh why did they close The Bar and The Restaurant to open this place? Why do they have partitions at the bar. You might as well be by yourself even when it’s crowded. Not someplace grown ups go.

This summer, I had lunch at Kildares and was impressed by heir tuna sandwich. This was not chopped up tuna fish, but a big hunk of tuna steak in a wrap. Very tasty and a good value!

Lunching al fresco at Kildare’s can be hot – there’s not as much shade as across the street at Iron Hill!

Kildare’s is also the place in town for a Blacksmith – half Guiness/half Smithwicks!!!

The first time I went to Kildare’s it was for brunch with the family it was wonderful warm irish soda bread was eaten right up with the yummy honey butter it was served with. Bangers was a hit. Omlettes were done and stuffed just right. The service was freshed face all smiles and prompt. There’s lots to look at with the decor my kids loved the table and chairs made from the tree – they called it the Lord of The Rings Table.

However, a lunch visit left something to be desired of the kitchen the food was good when it finally got to our table over an hour later – we had reservations for 11:30 – there’s no way it should’ve taken that long.

Review Guidelines
Be Respectful. Do you kiss your mother with that mouth?

Although the old saying, "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all," is swell, we encourage constructive feedback (ie, be polite), and recommend backing-up your comments with evidence/witnesses.

Be Honest. Look where it got Abe Lincoln. Well, before the evening at the theater.

We don't recommend complaining just for the sake of it (see number 1), but if you have a legitimate comment, it should be shared. Also, don't hesitate to disagree with other comments, even if your opinion is in the minority. If patrons aren't honest about their experiences, restaurants won't know that there is room for improvement. And there always is.

Be Specific. "The food was good" doesn't cut it.

Each dining experience is unique, so if a dining experience moves you in any way, by all means, share the details. Choose the sensory details that impacted your experience the most and describe them in your postings. Other foodies will gobble it up—literally.

Be Concise. 'Nuf said.

What? We thought it was pretty clear the first time.

Be Helpful. Sort of like how the elves and reindeer help Santa.

Will what you have to say improve the restaurant's ability to provide impeccable service and improve the dining experience for others (again, see number 1)? If so... help away.

Show a Little Pride. No Jane or John Does please.

If you are too embarrassed to put your name as the commenter, you probably should re-evaluate your comments (you know the drill... see number 1). If you have sensitive information that you feel needs to be passed along, please use your best judgment and e-mail it to us to avoid public posting. We don't want you to have any post-post regrets.

Don't Name Names. Let's not get too personal here.

We know you want to share your experiences, both good and bad, but this isn't the place to publicly condemn or praise individual people. Feel free to comment on "the service", "the chef", or "the staff", but any positive or negative mention of specific names will be moderated.
