Ryan’s Pub is one of West Chester’s favorite hideaways. The warm, cozy atmosphere is perfect for students, couples, families and the after work crowd. Ryan’s features specials nightly, as well as live local music on Wednesdays and Sundays!

Sit on the outdoor patio and do some people-watching or site at the grand Irish American bar that is lined on the left with booths for dining and relaxing. Groups can eat on the second floor in the comfortable dining room with a second bar and a pool room!

WC Dish Recommends: Pork sandwiches, nachos, salads.

Ryans is bar none(no pun) my favorite establishment for food and spirits in Chester County. Between the three separate areas in house, there is a place for all, young and old. Cant say Ive ever had a unpleasurable experience here thanks to the amazing staff that Pat Ryan employs. Keep up the good work and I will see you soon, you can count on it.

I won’t disagree with previous comment about “drunken animals”, but then again, I wouldn’t go to Ryan’s for dinner. On weekends it’s mainly a college hangout. Nor would I ask for 6 separate checks if I did eat there with five friends. Did you leave separate tips also?

Been there a few times and have had pretty good experiences for the most part. Nachos are amazing and so are the chicken quesadillas for all quesadilla fanatics.
The upstairs is a lot nicer – you don’t have to deal with all the drunken animals at the bar. Not pleasant having to walk through them to get out though…
Service was good too. I went with 5 of my girlfriends and our waitress was willing to give us all separate checks. That can be a very tedious task and most waitresses would give you a hard time.
Whenever we’re looking for a consistent place to go eat we know it can be here. =)

There needs to be a separate category for “bar” on the site. Ryan’s is a bar, not an Irish restaurant. That said, it’s a good bar that doesn’t pretend to be anything but.

Ryans has THE BEST BUFFALO WINGS in the tri-state area period!!!!!!!!!!!

I’ve been to Ryan’s Pub several times. As a fan of the classic Italian style pork sandwhich (best in area is at DiCic’s at Reading Terminal), I thought I’d give Ryan’s Pub a shot on Friday night. Thoughts and comments:

    - I’m not sure if there was some kind of beer special – or maybe it was because the Eagles were playing, but as my younger guest commented, “This place is a sausage factory”. I prefer the old school term “Dude Ranch”.
    - We both order the pork sandwich. The staff was very friendly and sevice was quick.
    - It’s hard to compare a pork sandwhich to DiNic’s, but I have to say it was better than OK. I was surprised the spinach topping was not an option AND it could have been a bit more juicier. The fries were terrible.

I respectfully, based on the pork sandwhich only, will give this establishment 6.7 “THAT BLUE YAK” stars out of 10.

Ryan’s has the best slow roasted prime rib………..a delicious flavor and it melts in your mouth! For the price you can’t go wrong !!Try it ! I have friends who come from the Main Line to Ryan’s for the prime rib and “fish of the day”. They love it.

The burgers are great here – flavorful cooked to order – mmmmm- and the seafood bisque was delish. Our server Lindsey was right on top of everything in a nice friendly manner.

Review Guidelines
Be Respectful. Do you kiss your mother with that mouth?

Although the old saying, "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all," is swell, we encourage constructive feedback (ie, be polite), and recommend backing-up your comments with evidence/witnesses.

Be Honest. Look where it got Abe Lincoln. Well, before the evening at the theater.

We don't recommend complaining just for the sake of it (see number 1), but if you have a legitimate comment, it should be shared. Also, don't hesitate to disagree with other comments, even if your opinion is in the minority. If patrons aren't honest about their experiences, restaurants won't know that there is room for improvement. And there always is.

Be Specific. "The food was good" doesn't cut it.

Each dining experience is unique, so if a dining experience moves you in any way, by all means, share the details. Choose the sensory details that impacted your experience the most and describe them in your postings. Other foodies will gobble it up—literally.

Be Concise. 'Nuf said.

What? We thought it was pretty clear the first time.

Be Helpful. Sort of like how the elves and reindeer help Santa.

Will what you have to say improve the restaurant's ability to provide impeccable service and improve the dining experience for others (again, see number 1)? If so... help away.

Show a Little Pride. No Jane or John Does please.

If you are too embarrassed to put your name as the commenter, you probably should re-evaluate your comments (you know the drill... see number 1). If you have sensitive information that you feel needs to be passed along, please use your best judgment and e-mail it to us to avoid public posting. We don't want you to have any post-post regrets.

Don't Name Names. Let's not get too personal here.

We know you want to share your experiences, both good and bad, but this isn't the place to publicly condemn or praise individual people. Feel free to comment on "the service", "the chef", or "the staff", but any positive or negative mention of specific names will be moderated.
