    Steve,

i drove past there the other night for a slice. it has a sign that says "Temporary Closed". I really hope that doesn't mean they're shut down for good... They have the best pizza in town! I was stuck going to Dominos instead... yuck!!
  • Steve
Did these guys go under? tried calling and both lines were disconnected.
  • pizzaEater
Thomasene's has become one of my favorite pizza places, though I find it hard to compare with other pizza cause it tastes so different to me. It tastes fresh and healthier than most pizza (though that may not be the case, i have no idea).. and it isn't greasy. I agree there is too much crust, but I am not a crust eater no matter who's pizza and usually feed it to my dog, who i'm sure isn't complaining!

It's not the best tasting when eaten cold, but it reheats beautifully.

I switch it up between Thomesene's and Las Vegas and really love them both!
  • Brock
I live right by this place and have been there probably a half a dozen times already. I can agree with some of the reviewers that their plain pizza isn't the best, but the specialty pizzas are pretty tasty (buffalo chx was awesome). They usually have sandwich specials too including a cajun chicken sandwich that was big, tasty and made with just the right amount of spice. Nice place to go for a quick bite to eat.

Other favorites include their hoagies, italian stromboli and trust me, try the BBQ wings, they are incredible!!
  • Mike,
You are a step-up owner and from your comments a good guy. I was in your establishment yesterday (I did not know you had posted, nor that you were out) and I ordered a take out pie.

Excellent service, friendly staff and a very good pizza pie. I will continue to frequent your establishment and hope to try your cheesesteaks (maybe this weekend). My early comments were not to offend and I do apologize. I will look for you this weekend.

I will refer my friends and colleagues as well. Satisfied clients never run out of money or referrals.

Good job, good luck. C Eric

Willie, If I run into you I am going to smack you on the head with a pizza pan.
  • Willy
I would charge C Eric triple the norm--who wants to deal with a whiner like this. Please stock up on extra napkins...
  • Mike
Dear C. Eric. This is the first time I am not only writing to you, but also writing a review on this site. I am very happy that you have decided to give us another shot. I do apologize about your previous visit and am sorry the service was poor. I had patrons and friends get behind me after you posted some comments about us, but the truth is, everything you said is dead on accurate. If your order was late to your house, that is are fault and I am sure it tasted horrible being that it was cold. Further more, you are right. I did open in a bad economy and couldn’t have chosen a location with more competition. So, being open past Halloween would be a great feat for us. If not, it has been a rough year for me….. one of the toughest things about being a business owner these days is the ability for everyone to publicly speak their mind on sites like the WC Dish. I have to except the bad reviews along with the good. We have spent a lot on advertising and I do appreciate what you had to say about our service. It did need work, and I have focused on improving that. So, thank you. I would like to extend to you the greatest welcome into our establishment and let me make you a fresh pizza out of the oven for you to try. I would also like to open the menu up for you to taste test anything you like on the house. I have freshly shaved rib eye cheese steaks, and we cut our own French fries as well. I am there every day open to close. This Tuesday the 20th will be one of the only days I am off to take care of some personal business. Please call me ahead of time and let me know you are coming.
If after you try out my menu to your content, and you still find it is not to your liking, no hard feelings at all. You have your own tastes and are entitled to your opinion as is everyone. I am new to this town and I don’t know a lot of people.
If you decide we are not your pizza of choice, at least maybe we can shake hands and you can be one more friend I’ve made in West Chester. I really do hope you come in and we get to meet.

    Best regards!
    Mike – Founder/ President

  • willie,

I am going to find you and slap you in the head. Loser, the only folks that read Craig Leban are torches like yourself.

Pray my friend that we never meet. I'm going to smack that fat face of yours.

    C Eric
  • Willie
I can hardly wait for this make-or-break review. You must think yo're Craig Leban or something...
  • I have been reading the previous comments from folks and have decided to give Thomasenes another shot at my business. I don't wish them ill at all and would hope they can make it and enjoy a profitable tenure in the borough.
I am not affiliated with Pat, I will though hold them to pretty tough standards as my last two trips were not up to par.

C Eric will be making a trip to your establishment shortly and will look forward to enjoying a nice slice of pie.
  • Steve
Not to be a jerk, but i never liked coco's pizza...it was ok food for more than ok price. so i was really hesitant to try Thomasenes...all these thoughts vanished when i saw the $3 two slices and a drink special on their sidewalk sign. i've lived in west chester for about 7 years and i can say without a doubt this is the best pizza this town has ever seen. then they went above and beyond and had a dollar hot dog special around fourth of july...needless to say i went in so many times for this special that at one point i was refered to as hot dog guy. it broke my heart when i was informed that they didnt think the hot dogs were fresh anymore and refused to serve me one...even after i begged. you cannot get better food in this town for a better price. i just hope they can open up another shop like, oh i don't know...where chris' pizza is
    love always,
    hot dog guy

CONGRADULATIONS ON WINNING THE BEST PIZZA IN CHESTER COUNTY!!!!!!

Really, So terrible?1? NOT AT ALL! you make it sound like you wish death upon this place.

To be honest everyone that works here is extremely nice.

The Cajun Pizza is awesome! And you can really taste the freshness of the tomatoe sauce in their plain pies.

I recomend this to everyone who is looking for good pizza in a friendly atmosphere.

(Pat and C Eric sound like the same person and are probably worried that this product is superior to theirs, and are threatened that they may be losing business.)
  • Mike Shannon
Thomasenes is the best pizza in this area by far. No other place can compete with the quality of their food (especially the pizza). It's obvious the level of intelligence that Pat has since this site is private and ip addresses are not available for any of us to see. Every person I have sent there had a great experience.
  • ilovepizza
This place is great, there pizza is second to none, there cheese steaks remind me of south philly and there wings are great during a football game.Prices are fair, you get alot for the buck. Love this place would def recommend to any one who eats out. Keep up the good work
  • Lou
I've been to Thomasene's many times, the pizza is great, the crust is thin, crispy and tasty ,the sauce is homemade ,no premade pizza sauce from a can, authentic italian pizza sauce!!! Bravo Mike.  The people that work there are friendly, the customer service  is outstanding. I've had several friends that have gone on my recommendation and have become regulars. Everyone is entitled to their opinions, but i'm a 50 year old fullblooded italian who knows good food and I give Thomasene's *****.
  • Pat
This place is so terrible. The pizza is made as cheaply as possible. There is literally 3 inches around the edge of the pie that is all crust. That's right, no sauce, cheese, or toppings in that area at all. The staff makes it looks like a bunch of drunken frat guys and their girlfriends decided to open up a pizza joint. It's funny that they spend so much money on advertising and not on the food they make. Also, Eric is right, all the good reviews for this place are from the same IP address. Meaning all of the good reviews came from the same computer network. Probably the owner's. Stay away. Do West Chester a favor and drive this place out of business or at least force them to start making better food.
  • Steve
I tired for the first time 2 nights ago. Pizza was good, wings were good. However my bill was messed up on their end. (was higher than it should have been). Also they forgot my soda that was supposed to come with my order. Driver went back, fixed the receipt and brought my soda. Next night, my roommate decides to order the same thing. Again, they forgot the soda, and this time did not bring celery and blue cheese with the wings.
How do you run a restaurant when things go out the door without the full order is beyond me? I liked the pizza and wings, but if this happens again it will be the third strike and I will not be back.
  • pizza101
I came into thomasenes a few weeks ago and am hooked..Their three dollar special 2 slices and a soda is the greatest steal in west chester! Not only is the pizza amazing, but those counter girls are smokin! They even deliver, what more can you ask for? Their steaks and hoagies are awesome too. Anyway, if your looking for great prices, hot girls, and awesome food, I would DEFINITELY check out thomasenes pizza!
  • Shoes
Wow! I’m not sure what C Eric is writing about because what he wrote was not at all like the experience I had!

I feel like that with every visit to this pizza shop the food not only nourishes my stomach but also my soul.

I have been living in West Chester for 22 years and have experienced it all (meaning pizza shops), and this is the most unique spot in town. The owner does wonders with his freshly made sauce and his combination of water and flour that creates his delightful thin crust.

I highly recommend this pizza to anyone that haven't had their belly’s kissed by angels yet!
  • Bredt
Mike is an absolutely great owner! It was a pleasure meeting you and I wish you the best of luck. I will have to say growing up in West Chester everyone is always looking for a good Pizza....well our wait is up. This restaurant not only has a wonderful staff and owner, but there Pizza and hoagies are above the rest! I would highly recommend this place. It reminds me of Pepe's pizza in New haven Connecticut....which was always my favorite. Please give this place a try. They deliver too! The price is right and the food is delicious! Mike you are a great owner and I wish you the best of luck!
  • Songsmith
I agree: Thomasene's has the best pizza by far in West Chester. [I realize this isn't a notable disctinction, but even still, it's pretty darn good.]

Dig the thin crust and sauce on top. It would be nice if the crust gave a little more support towards the tip (the middle of the pie.) It's a bit difficult to just pick it up neatly--at least for the first couple of bites. [I'm purposefully avoiding the word "limp".] If you've ever tried Kashi's frozen pizzas--they do that thin crust right--for a frozen pizza.

I'm not sure about all of this drama between the MGMT and C Eric. Really, anyone who prefers his pizza from some place called Pizza U. doesn't have much taste credibility. What kind of sides do they offer? Raman noodles?

Anyway: on foot or by car, I'd recommend Thomasene's.
  • The MGMT
    To C Eric,
It is unfortunate that your food was cold when it arrived and I do apologize. I wish you had called and informed us immediately and it would have been replaced and brought to you by a delivery person in a car. Yes, a car. I assure you that every single member of our delivery staff actually does drive an automobile. We do appreciate your business, thank you for giving us a try, and do apologize again. If your feeling brave one day and decide to stray from your usual Pizza shop, give us another shot, maybe sometime around Halloween....BOO!

    Thanks,
    MGMT
  • C Eric
I received the menu in the mail and thought I'd give Thomasene's a try--unfortunately I should have stuck to Pizza U. Poor quality pie and delivery guy was on foot (yes on foot). He ended up a mile away and by the time he arrived pizza was way cold.

If you are new to town in a crowded competitive market, don't you think having a delivery guy with a car would make sense.

Menu looked great, but pizza was sub-par and service was a disgrace. Get better or you'll be gone by Halloween.
  • URWHATUEAT
I've been searching for years now for really good pizza in and around West Chester and have finally found the best, BY FAR, in Thomasene's. These pies are outstanding! The large 18" pies have great thin-as-can-be crusts. The sauce is light and fresh tasting and is ladled over top of the cheese. The result is an exceptionally light tasting, floppy slice pie that you can eat without the after meal feeling of having swallowed a boat anchor. I love this stuff!
  • Evita
Thomasene's has THE BEST pizza in town and is reasonably priced. Their eat-in specials are awesome and a large 18-inch pie runs you just $11.00! They do a thin crust with their sauce on top. Other items on their menu are also tasty and they even have fresh cut fries. Highly recommended for those who value taste as well as quality and price.
